In March 2007 we launched our very first web-site. For years we had been selling retail and wholesale through other channels, but had given the web a wide berth - fear of the unknown and a distinct lack of technical knowledge each played their part.
Last Christmas, over one bottle of wine too many, we decided to give this web thing a try. How hard could it be? Today, we’re going a step further and starting our very own Nirvana Blog. Now, don’t panic - there will be no pictures of cats or discussions about how our baby is smarter than your baby.
This blog is so we can talk to you, our customers; so we can tell you more about our business than a simple web page allows; and so YOU can tell us what you think. Our plan is to focus the blog on a number of areas:
- Frequently asked questions. Whether it’s about postage costs or delivery times, we’ll fill you in.
- Up to date information. For example, public and bank holidays that affect deliveries are not always the same in Ireland, the UK and the US. And if we’re going on a 10 day expedition up the Nile in search of quality sterling silver, you might want to know about it before placing an order on the day we depart.
- Info on special offers and stock clearances, as well as a first glimpse at some new lines before they go live.
- Sharing our knowledge. Over the years we’ve build up a lot of knowledge and experience covering all aspects of the fashion jewellery business. Whether it’s spotting that fake Baltic Amber, or advising you on how to package your sterling silver necklaces so they’ll look just as good as any professional Jewelers, we’ll fill you in.
In the future we may allow ‘guest‘ posts from some of our more valued customers, where you will have the opportunity to talk about your business: what you sell, where you sell it, and what sort of issues you have in sourcing stock.
Comments are open, so please feel free to let us know what you think. We always value feedback, and your input will help us to deliver better products and a better service.

Hi,
I first discovered Nirvana when trying to source some different enamel jewellery for my market stall. I had been to a trade fair and, despite having two thousand pounds set aside for buying, I found that many of the suppliers were not too keen on selling their jewellery to market traders. I came away annoyed and deflated because I simply couldn’t purchase the good quality stock I required (not all market traders deal in tatt!) I sell at a quaint Victorian indoor market and am well known for offering beautiful quality items - plus I never stock loads of the same style/colour so my stall always looks fresh and different. I love seeing people’s faces and hearing the "Wow" when they look at my display! It’s great to find a company like Nirvana who offer people like me exactly what they require - good value, up-to-the-minute designs in sensible minimum quantities. And, if they ever manage to source some more Ikita stock I’ll be their slave for ever!!

Hi Cathy,
We are always on the look out for branded jewellery such as the “Ikita” but it’s difficult to come by at realistic wholesale prices. It seems that as soon as a brand name is stamped on a product it’s also stamped on the price tag. Our new summer range is due in at the end of May with many new enamel styles and colours. Could be worth you keeping an eye out.
Regards Malene.

Hello to you,
I’m a total novice in the arena of selling jewellery although I buy loads for myself and my friends. I’ve just turned 40 and am fed up working for people and have decided to start my own little business selling jewellery. I like Cathy will start on the market stall to see how I go. I must say, I’m so impressed with your range I will be putting in an order immediately. Having read the entry from Cathy, I think I may just do quite well. Thank you for being there when I most need you. Watch this space……..

Hi Gerri,
With the Fashion Jewellery and Accessory market going from strength to strength I think you have picked just the right time to begin your new business.
Along with the Fashion Jewellery we are also expecting delivery of a complete new range of Sterling Silver. Cubic Zirconia (CZ’s) are proving to be a very strong line for us at the moment and we intent to begin loading images of these on the website very shortly. Don’t forget to check in every now and again.
Best of Luck with the new venture. Malene.
